Because these dogs have keen senses, they're sometimes used in the Hearing Ear Program. While most Toy Foxes are playful, some are high-strung. Toy Foxes adapt well to apartments but need exercise.

They're sometimes friendly with strangers and good with children, but snappish with other animals. Toy Foxes enjoy learning tricks and they like to bark, dig, and chew. They're great mousers.

Height: up to 10"

Weight: 4 -7 pounds

Coat: Satiny and short. An occasional brushing is all that's needed. Ears prick up; tail is docked.

Colors: Preferably white with black spots and tan trimming. Sometimes dogs are white or tan and white and black. Head is black with tan dots over the eyes and on the sides of the muzzle. Dogs may have a white blaze.

Special Considerations: Toy Foxes are very sensitive to the cold.
