Siberian Huskies are usually good-natured and playful. These energetic dogs are still used as racing dogs in Siberia. If you try to confine Siberian Huskies, they'll become destructive. Siberian Huskies are sometimes hard to housebreak.

Siberian Huskies are working dogs. In general, working dogs pull sleds and carts, guard homes, and serve in the militarly. Because these dogs are intelligent and capable of learning almost anything, they make excellent companions.

Their very size can make them difficult to control, so they must be trained by a competent professional. Most working dogs are pack dogs, so they're often aggressive with strange dogs and other pets.

Origin: Russia

Height: Males: 21" - 23" ; Females: 20" - 22"

Weight: 35 - 60 pounds

Coat: Thick with a dense undercoat. Brush two or three times a week. Tail is loosely curled over the back; ears prick up.

Color: Gray and white, black and white, red and white, or solid white. Eyes are brown, blue, or mixed. Nose is black and gray dogs, brown on red dogs. Nose is sometimes flesh-colored on white dogs.

Special Consideration: Since Siberian Huskies tend to be mischievous, don't choose the most outgoing puppy in a litter.
