Miniature and Standard Poodles are very similiar breeds except for their size. Poodles are usually playful, intelligent, and sensitive, but sometimes high-strung. They're often shy with strangers, but they'll snap if startled. Because of this, they're better with older children than young toddlers. Origin: Germany
Height:Miniature Poodle: 10" - 15"; Standard Poodle: over 15" Weight: Miniature Poodle: 14 - 17 pounds; Standard Poodle: 45 - 50 pounds. Coat: Curly. Poodles are sometimes groomed into very elaborate cuts. Tail is docked; ears hang down. Colors: Solid colors only - black, white, gray, blue, silver-cream, red, apricot, chocolate, or cafe au lait. Eyes and nose color depend on coat color. Special Consideration: Mini Poodles have been exploited, so you have to be very careful. Standard Poodles are much less common, so the chances of buying a poorly bred puppy aren't as high. |
