Chinooks are a cross between a Husky and a Saint Bernard. The Chinook is a companion, a sled dog, and a therapy dog for handicapped children. Chinook puppies are energetic, but adults are mellow and easygoing. Chinooks can adapt to the city if exercised daily. They're good with children, but sometimes suspicious of strangers. Height: 20" - 28" Weight: 55 - 70 pounds Coat: Coarse with a dense undercoat. Brush at least twice a week. Ears may prick up, hang down, or fold back. Tail hangs down. Colors: Various shades of tawny. Nose is black; eye color varies.Special Considerations: A Chinook from a poor bloodline might be aggressive. Buy only from a reputable breeder. |
