Bulldogs are sweet and loving. While puppies often have spunk, adults are inactive and dislike exercise, except for an occasional, slow walk on a cool day. Bulldogs are very good with children and other pets, but they're sometimes aggressive with strange dogs. They wheeze and slobber, and they often have gas. Sometimes referred to as the English Bulldogs. Origin: Great Britain Height: 14" - 15" Weight: 40 to 55 pounds Coat: Short and glossy. Brush occasionally. Tail may hang down or twist into a screw tail. Ears are called rose ears, which means the bottom part of the ear is up, while the top part flops over sideways. Colors: Brindle, white, red, fawn, or piebald, Small white patch is allowed on the chest. Eyes are dark, and nose is black. Special Considerations: Bulldogs are short-lived, ten years at best. They're extremely susceptible to heatstroke and respiratory difficulties, so they need to live in air-conditioned homes. |
